Tennis is a very historic and respected sport with many traditions that show this. One example of a tradition in tennis is the players wearing all white in one of the major grand slams of Wimbledon, this tradition has been followed for over a century. A sign of respect the game also shows is that players shake each other hand at the net before and after a match. During play the crowd is quiet during points and then claps between points. These are a few of tennis traditions that helps keep tennis a respectful and classy game.

Evolution of Tennis

Tennis has changed a lot over the years, with technology and equipment improving it has changed the dynamic and play of tennis. Modern rackets made from lighter materials allow for faster and more powerful play of tennis compared to the speed and play of tennis with the original wooden racket. The change in rackets have changed the style of play, for example players now rely more on baseline rallies rather than serve-and-volley style of play from the past. Technology like Hawk-Eye has made line calls more accurate, and players are now placing more emphasis on fitness and strategy, which has increased the sport's intensity and competitiveness. Courts have also changed, with various surfaces like grass, clay, and hard courts adding different challenges to the game.
